First off, it is greenery I put over my door or a Christmas picture and usually I just put white lights in it and hang it up but since I am getting a purple tree I thought ah ha! I can finally decorate purple and silver like I been wanting to for years...have to admit that it took some time and yet was a lot of fun to come up with it.  Also didn't realize I ran out of a lot of supplies...hehe...so I improvise...and I made two projects instead of one for ya to see how we can use the flowers I learned to make...which was a lot of fun!!!

Take the greenery and fluff it up ...especially if it has been in storage...hehe...

then I use a ribbon I was given by my pastor's wife for me just because....she knows how I LOVE purple...hehe...so I just put it throughout the greenery and tied the beginning and the end of what I wanted to use...I love how it is full of texture and silver bling....then I had a little piece leftover to make a bow and tied that to the bottom below.

  

Then I made some of these pretty purple flowers out of different color cardstock...which was a lot of fun but does take time to make and twirl...as you can see by my pic you can make them any size basically I did just that from small to a larger to give it dimension.  You cut a square of cardstock and i do like 2x2, 3x3, and up....then you cut a circle then you cut the circle all around the shape so you can twirl it up but also near the end make a small circle so you can use that as a base to stand the flower and then once you twirl it up you let go a bit and then the flower comes out and on the circle part of the last part of what you cut is your base to hold the flower and I glue gun mine but you can use any strong glue like Helmar or Aleene's.

  Then I cut out some green leaves to give my flower some real life...hehe. 

Then I just glue gun the flowers all over the greenery and voila!  So pretty! I wanted to add pearl gems to it and mist it up ...then I found out ...gasp...I am out...then went to look for mica...gasp...out....hehe...so my flowers will be blinged up some more later but I think it looks cute as is.  Hope this at least inspires you try your hand at making something like this and it can also be used as a center piece for a table and have candles added...(didn't have that either)....

well I had so much fun making the flower that I made another project...

I made a pin that you can wear anytime of the year but also makes a great gift and in any color but I decided to make this for me...hehe...

I used a piece of lace from what I ordered actually from Ooh-La-La-Vintage Store....the have awesome lace ribbons and more...yummy...anyways to get back on track here..I cut a piece of white lace and trimmed 2 inches...folded in half and glued it to make a little poof then added some flowers (put a white bead pin centers) and a leaf and voila...a cute pin to wear!

A Recipe from Violet Foskey for Banana Walnut Bread

Banana Walnut Bread

Preheat oven to 350

1 & 3/4 c all purpose flour

2/3 c sugar

3/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 & 1/4 tsp cream of tartar

Place all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.

2 ripe medium to large bananas

1/3 c vegetable oil                         

2 medium eggs

Place wet ingredients in a blender and mix until blended together well.

Pour wet mixture in with dry ingredients and stir with large spoon until blended well.  Blend in 1/2-1 cup of chopped walnuts.  Pour blended mixture into a well greased bread pan.  Bake @ 350 until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.  Yummy!  Yummy!

HELLOOOOO Everyone!!

Here is a easy and simple gift idea that could be givin' not just at Christmas time; but anytime of the year. I love to make handmade gifts ( which I'm sure WE All Do..lol)..and when coming up with this idea I thought to myself, "What could I make that would be useable and enjoyable ALL the time"

 Hey why not a "Altered Clothespin Magnet w/ Card"!! 

  When the Hoidays are over the card can be put away with all the other cards we collect and still use the "Altered Clothespin Magnet" for ohter things: Hold pics on the frige or office, "To Do List", or a "Crafting Must Have" list !!! LOL!! 

" Endless" I say!!

Items Used:

*Clothespins- plain wooden ones form Walmart: you could take apart & paint or crakle paint yourself OR Michaels sales magnetic clothespins that are in many different color plastic ( with the magnets already on them).

*Magnets- you can find @Walmart in the craft area

* Tule /Lace-awesome finds I must say at Oh La La Vintage Treasures

*String Pearls

*Hot Glue Gun

*Any Other Yummy Embellies- You might have in a hore vault! LOL!

HOLA EVERYONE!!!! I am excited about this post for a couple of reasons! FIRST>>>It is LINDA's BIRTHDAY and SECONDLY>>>>> it is DAY 7 of the 12 DAYS of CHRISTMAS OOH -LA- LA VINTAGE TREASURES BLOG HOP EVENT!   Thank you Patti and Doreen for including me in such a fun event!

My project is a simple gift using something old and making it new again with a shabby chic flair. A wooden box discovered at a yard sale, a vintage playing card, items in my stash and beautiful products from OOH- LA- LA VINTAGE TREASURES ARTFIRE SHOP turned into an WONDERFUL birthday gift! Give it a try! Simple, quick and elegant.

You can use any box to alter. I found this wooden box at a yard sale for $3! AWESOME find! Using crackle paint,  I painted it blue. I did not paint the inside as it was already padded and I like that! 

Using the bottom left side of the Webster's Pages "Ladies & Gents Framed Beauty" paper that I purchased from OOH LA LA VINTAGE TREASURES, I used the bottom of the box to trace the oval that I would use on the lid of the box. I knew the oval I traced and cut would be smaller, but that is what I wanted. I inked the edge of the oval and adhered it to the lid with quick drying glue. Using a second sheet of the same patterned paper, I fussy cut 2 flowers from the sheet, inked the edges and placed them to the side. 

I hot glued lace around the lid and let it set. I hot glued flatback pearls on the lace and let it set. I found it easier to hot glue both the lace and pearls a 1/2 inch at a time as the hot glue sets quickly. 

I hot glued the lovely bouquet (top) and the flowers (bottom) are also from the OOH LA LA VINTAGE TREASURES ARTFIRE SHOP! (The flowers were a thank you gift from Patti and Doreen and went PERFECTLY with my project!) 

I adhered a vintage playing card to the "mirror" on the paper. I hot glued flatback pearls around the card's edge. I adhered the flowers the I previously fussy cut with foam dots to give them dimension. I hot glued flowers and leaves that I found in my stash and about an hour later..........

I loved how this project turned out! OOH LA LA----the bouquet really makes the entire box pop! Stop by OOH -LA- LA VINTAGE TREASURES ARTFIRE SHOP and check out the awesome goodies for sale!

On The 6th Day of Christmas My Crafty Friends Gave to Me..........

This is an EASY project that uses materials most people have at home. Paper/ styrofoam


 plates are cheap as is tissue paper. My lil guy LOVES his wreath and is displaying it proudly


 on our front door. Grab these basic supplies and craft with your kiddos!!! Great memories


 are sure to come out of it!!





 1. Paper or styrofoam plate. Using something round and cut a hole in the center.








 2. cut lil squares from green tissue paper... glue centers to plate.


 




3. tear little pieces of red tissue paper and roll into balls.




4. Glue balls on green "leaves" 
..
 5. make a bow and using wire or pipe cleaner, tie bow to pipe cleaner or wire.

GREAT way to send a lil Christmas cheer and a photo of your child to a loved one. This is an


 easy project that requires only a few supplies. This can be altered to use any shape and can


 be added to for a fuller wreath. Limitless possibilities!!




Punch or Cut with your Cricut.. 3 different sized squares... or whatever shape you would like.( 


24 total) this will be 6 of each kind and 3 of each color. Assemble by alternating color pieces


 and gluing them together at 90 degree intervals.( OR.. Use a hole punch and a brad and brad


 them together as I did) Punch a 1/16th hole ( hole punch) at both top corners. Using your 


Cricut, punch, or even hole punch.. punch out 9 red 1/4" circles and 3 red 1/2 " circles. In the


 center of the layered scallops ( squares above) , glue 3 grouped 1/4" red circles. Place it on


 every other one. Next, glue the 1/2" circles to the center of the other scalloped squares. Add


 little highlight to the circles with a white pen. Add a photo and then tie a bow.. Ta Da... What a


 GREAT gift for anyone!! ( This can be altered so many different ways by adding more layers,


 different shapes and colors)

I cut the chipboard with my baroque die and bigshot. glue on the paper add lace around the baroque. I use my MS score board to make my paper flower for the middle & flower lace with the chipboard letter.  I cut out some die cut from the paper stack and add them with popdots.then to hange the banner i use ribbon..

A Special Memory and Birthday by Rosemary Cooper.....

Hello everyone my name is Rosemary and welcome to the blog as one of the guests here
on Ohh La La Vintage Treasures. My blog is about Christmas Décor over the years. Many things
have changed over the years and even some of those things are still around or are becoming
popular again. 50 years ago, today, I was born and now as I turn the Vintage age I am sitting
here having flashbacks to my childhood. I am laughing at the things that have changed and the
things we had growing up that are coming back as popular items. Such as a Silver Christmas
Trees, Barbie Dolls, Santa Claus figures, or many others vintage items just to mention a few.
Growing up we had a fake Christmas tree which was silver and the limbs were made of metal.

The lights back then didn’t go on the tree because of a fire hazard. So we always used a thing
called a Color Wheel to bring out the colors. I remember my parents taking each metal limb out
of a sleeve and attaching it to the tree. Now that tree is popular again and people are buying
them from places like E-bay. In fact I looked one up the other day and it was on EBay for $245.
Barbie is another thing we had growing up. My cousin gave me a Barbie from 1959 and as kids
back then the thing to do was pass them onto the next cousin since I had no sisters. Now I wish
I would have kept her since she is still around. My daughter always played with them when
she was growing up. Santa Claus figures were popular growing up and I still have the one that
I had as a kid that is now called vintage. I look back at things and they all bring back beautiful
memories of my childhood which is why I am so obsessed with the Vintage Santa scrapbook
items. Thank you for letting me go back to memory lane and celebrate my Vintage Birthday
today.
