September Challenge/Swap Announcement

Hello Beauties!
Are you ready for a new challenge with a twist???? Well here is what we are going to do! We are going to decorate the Jean Pocket Template and then swap them!

You will get the template for free if you participate and sign -ups are open until September 14th. All the pockets should be mailed out to your swap partner no later then September 30th. To sign up you can either leave a comment or email me at creativepatti@gmail.com . Please make sure I have your email address when you sign up so I can email you the jean pocket template. I will be announcing swap partners on Sept 17th.
You have to decorate the outside of the pocket and the insert card. You are going to decorate the insert card like you would for an ATC and on the back put your information so your swap partner knows who it came from and can follow your blog or YT Channel. If you have any questions please email me! Also, please sign up only if you know you can participate without backing out. It is not fair to your swap partner if you back out in the last minute.
Have A Great Day!

New Template available at Ooh-la-la

Hello Beauties,

I am so excited to show you the new Mini Book Box template that is available at Ooh-la-la Vintage Treasures! My inspiration for this template was from Anna Fearer's Ustream. Doreen sent her a large book box that you can find at your local craft store and Anna altered it. Everyone wanted her to send it to them ( it was beautiful) and she said it was to big to ship. So I had decided that we need some mini book boxes! Now you can make your own way cheaper then buying them.
I used the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden paper to cover my book boxes. I have decided to use my mini book boxes for storage in my craft room. They are the perfect size for storing those small items that you always loss in your big storage containers ( happens to me all the time). Also you can use these little beauties for mini albums! How cute would it be to have a mini album inside these cute little boxes! The small book would make an adorable ornament for your Christmas Tree! Oh, and you can cut out the center part of the lid and turn them into shadow boxes! Okay, okay I will stop, LOL! Now I have to tell you the dimensions: Large is 4 1/2 in. wide x 5 in. long x almost 1 in. deep, Medium is 3 1/2 in. wide x 4 in. long x 1 in. deep, and the Small is 2 1/2 in. wide x 3 in. long x almost 1 in. deep.

The Spine
I used some of the Butterfly Garden paper to decorate the spine of the books. You could make cute labels to decorate your spine to look more like a book.
Inside of the large book
I did a simple inside with images from the paper collection. I didn't want the inside to be bulked up because I am using my book boxes for storage.

These little books are so fun to make and decorate and there are so many different ways you can use them and decorate them!
Have a Happy Crafty Day!

Crafting with Dominos and Graphic 45 Le' Romantique

Have you ever wondered what you can make using dominos. They are great for pendants or just placed in a jar for a vintage feel in your scraproom.  I made a miniature picture frame using the wood dominos they are available at http://www.artfire.com/users/oohlalavintagetreasures

Wood Dominos
Vintage Hand Tea-Dyed Lace
Vintage Wedding Applique
Miniature Rose Bouquet Burgundy
Graphic 45 "Curtain Call Collection" Eiffel Tower Image
Graphic 45 "Le' Romantique" Collection Bride Image

I wrapped the lace around and secured the dominos as a book layered the front cover with Indian Trim and Wedding Dress Applique, a vintage metal key and a small rose complete the front. Inside I edged the images in Vintage Photo Distress Ink by Tim Holtz, wrinkled up the images and added Glossy Accents to give them a real vintage look.  I love displaying this in my craftroom on my shadowbox.
